Specialty Working Groups (SWG) bring providers into the development and design phase of the DRO program's services. The success of DRO relies on the expert knowledge of family practice and specialist providers who contribute valuable insights to inform the requirements and design of eReferrals, eSubmissions, and eOrders, ensuring they meet the needs of health care providers.
These forms are used across the province when your community private practice clinic begins using eReferrals. Planning is also underway to support implementation in BC health authority setting with an initial focus on high referral volume areas within BC Cancer, labs, medical imaging and primary care.
Our goal is to work with health care providers to develop and maintain accessible referral forms.
Doctors of BC members and their clinical staff will receive compensation for their time. Health authority clinicians who are not otherwise compensated through employment, service contracts or medical leadership arrangements will be compensated for their invovement through PHSA's Medical Staff Compensation Services.
Each working group runs weekly for approximately 5-7 weeks. The exact dates and times are determined participant polling. Meetings are virtual and scheduled based on majority availability.
Providers and their administrative staff who are interested in particpating can sign up by completing the expression of interest form. You will be contacted with the next steps and meeting details as working groups are scheduled.
